We strive to fit every students educational needs and offer the courses to help prepare and shape their future plans.
Compulsory CreditsThe compulsory courses are selected by the Educational Minister of Manitoba. MacGregor Collegiate has added Graphic Communications as a compulsory course for the Grade 9 and 10 students. Each grade will have slightly different compulsory courses but these course are to be completed in order to receive your Manitoba High School Diploma.
Optional CreditsOur optional courses or electives are available to all grade 9-12 students. These courses that you can choose, allow you to study topics that interest you. Optional courses, when added to your core courses, make up the total number of credits needed to receive your High School diploma.

Optional credits are available to students outside of the timetable. Most of these credits are student initiated and the process for obtaining the most of these credits is by presenting written documentation for activity outside of the school system. Jazz band is included as an optional course outside of the timetable but is not student initiated.
